1.       USAA Financial Readiness Score Program                                          May '14 – Mar '15

 

USAA® is the largest financial service provider for the US military personnel providing multiple services including insurance, free financial advice, banking, investing, member discounts and shopping delivered according to core values of honesty, integrity, loyalty and service.

 

The tool provides customized score between 0 and 100 by determining the possible total of 100 points weighted across sixteen components of financial security grouped into four broad categories:

 

·   Protection and Insurance

·   Savings and Retirement

·   Household Finances

·   Plan and Legal Documents

 

Weights for each component are influenced by member’s personal situation and an assessment of member’s unique financial risks. The tool also provides the opportunity to see how member’s decisions may impact the score. Also provides personalized and prioritized set of action items that may help improve financial security.

 

As Scrum Master and Project Manager managed a team of 15 members involved in development using J2EE, Apache Wicket, EJB, Web Services, IBM Websphere, IBM DB2, IBM RSA and IBM RTC.

 

2.       USAA Real Estate Lending Program                                                         Jan '08 – Apr '14

 

USAA® is the largest financial service provider for the US military personnel providing multiple services including insurance, free financial advice, banking, investing, member discounts and shopping delivered according to core values of honesty, integrity, loyalty and service.

 

USAA® was using external products for Loan Origination and Processing that was slowly moved to the strategic platform with dual facing web interface. The UI consumes the web services that were developed to do specific functionality through the application services layer. Financial Service Industry standard model IBM® IFW was used for the analysis and design of the web services. I started as project lead responsible for the Trimerge service that interfaces with external vendor CSC®, Underwritting service that interfaces with the external vendor FanieMae®. Next as associate project manager was responsible for technical delivery and later as project manager for the complete real estate engagement.

 

I was part of the below projects in the Real Estate Lending Program:

The enhancement was to convert the static help files that was shipped to the customers in windows help format to be embedded with the application itself. The solution includes the migration of the static filemaker files to XML. The help system will then display the same to the user based on the products available and the users role and rights.

This eLearning product evolved to a mature architecture in the version 5.2 and then multiple enhancements were driven to enhance the features.

 

As Project Lead, I was responsible for:

These systems are all web-based applications on Sun Solaris with Oracle as backend.

 

As Senior Software Engineer, I was responsible for:
